saturday I went on an errand for my sister, and when I got home, I couldnt get the key out of the ignition in the Van. I spent twenty minutes doing just about anything and everything I could think of to get it to pull out. Start the car, back it up, move it forwards, adjust the steering wheel... finally it came out. I did figure if I couldnt get it out, I could take the key apart, since it comes in two interlocking pieces.

So, today, I got the jumper cables out so I could start the Focus, its been several months since I tried to start it and discovered the battery was very completely dead. I did all the right things, but, the Focus wasnt buying what I was selling, so, I let the Van idle along and I started to clean out the trunk of the Focus, since thats where a lot of xmas stuff ended up being shoved and never dealt with. It took over a half hour, but the Focus did start, so I disconnected all the bits and closed hoods, I turned the Van off, and the key did come out (but then, I didnt move the Van or do anything but turn it on) and let the Focus sit and idle for quite some time.

Monday, I call the Ford store to see about getting the Van in to be fixed, its either the ignition, or parts of the drive/clutch have slipped. As I see it, whatever is the most expensive.. cuz thats just how I seem to roll ... never the simple fix. Once that gets done, I will take the Focus in for service and make sure I didnt hurt it by letting the battery die.

During all of that, I got a text from my cousin R2's son, he was letting me know that his fathers wife had just died. She was terminal cancer and was doing in home hospice for the last 5 weeks. My cousin did call me after that, and he wasnt doing well, I told him I let my siblings know and that we loved him. This will be the second funeral in three weeks that wont happen.. maybe later..

Watched the critters and the birdies, saw a hummingbird assault the Empress Tree's blooms with great gusto, and one of the bunnies was hoppin and boppin in the side lot.. I had put peanuts out, and they were all gone in a matter of a few hours, and I had found a container of old sunflower seeds so I tossed them out too.

The smaller wood ducks have returned, I had been wondering when they would show up.

today would have been my paternal Grandpa's birthday, it was also my Godsons anniversary.
