Time sure got away from me this past week, but the Wicked Evil Stepmom is getting better, regaining her strength and feistyness. Between doctor appts, book signings and other obligations, and the weather change, its been exhausting. Monkey Boys life has imploded, and my friend B's mother died.

I did get to Wilco and bought 200 pounds of bird seed, put most of it in my bird seed rolly bin, and dumped a bag out in the side yard. I did see the yearling buck hanging out there, and saw the wild bunny in amongst the birds and squirrels. I did refill all the feeders. Made it to the comix store and got the new Stranger Things comix and found that Gerard Way has a new issue of Umbrella Acadmey out. I think I did about half the errands I wanted to, but, thats the breaks of getting up past noon, not everyone stays open late just for me. Last week was a good score on books, lots of new cozy mysteries, new YA, new books by fave writers... I do loves my books. (pet pet pet)

Yesterday I had hoped to get outside and do some yard work, but it was cold, dampish and trying to rain, so I sucked it up and instead of just wallowing in reading and bad tv, I worked in the kitchen putting groceries into the pantry and sorting out the expired items. I made progress, and of course, made it worse. Once I get the old stuff and trash out of there, it will be better, and get the plastic bags to recycle and the paper ones folded up, it wont be so bad.

Watched the new Doctor Who, and found it to be interesting, I havent really liked the past two doctors in the series, too frentic and ... well... just too much of everything. Made me want to bash one in the head just to get them to slow down.

Today, out with the sister creature and the Terry Brooks signing. Trying to collect the books for the Charlaine Harris signing on friday too. Going to be a busy week, have a dental appt thursday to fit the nightguard appliance, hoping that it wont be too exhausting. I did get the transition back to the VA for my dental care, it was a good run while it lasted. Got my drugs refilled or ordered, I should pick the rest of them up this week, I have a new pee pill as it were, so I need to stop the old one and start the new one.
I had forgotten that I had declared one day a mental health day last week and went to see The House With A Clock In Its Walls, one of my favorite John Bellairs books brought to the big screen. Its been about two years since I had gone to a movie, its painful to sit for two hours, but, I toughed it out.

I almost didnt go and see it, since Jack Black is such an over the top actor, because I find that his acting needs to be reigned in to actually get the benefit of the story. I had hopes that this director has tased him a few times to calm him down enough to get the role out of him. After watching the Jumanji 2 movie on tv a couple months ago, I was thinking that this could be a good performance. There were a few spots where he could have dialed it back a bit, but in all, it was enjoyable. And they set the movie in 1955, so that helped a lot with the storytelling. Just like the book. I am wondering if they will continue with the other books in the series. It would be nice. I liked Mrs Z and Rose Rita in this too.
