Feb. 6th, 2020

I had a week of suck. I was notified that a very enterprising inmate (and career criminal, currently doing 257 months for armed robbery) had a cell industry fake IRS returns scam going, and when he got busted for that, mine (and a whole lot of other folks) personal information was discovered in his possession. *sigh* I am currently going through my financial history putting freezes on my credit reports and secondary security on everything else. Such a joy. Compounding on that, my back is in full spasm (poss a slipped disc or pinched nerve) and its not letting up, and the VA of course, gave me an emergency PT appt in three weeks to help it. If the pain continues, I will do a sick call commando trip to the VAMC ER, just to be told they cant help me. The pain of course, is shorting out what brains I have left and making my short term memory and attention span even worse. I did get the feb bills paid over the phone that were due in the next few days because I spaced on them being due.

So, I have spent the past few days trying to get my state and federal taxes done, I got the Delux Turbo Tax package, and went through all of those gyrations, and got the fed portion done, and then, Turbo Tax decided I needed to pay another 39.99 to download the state portion. I did the delete and reinstall, still no joy, and I tried to go through customer service at Turbo Tax .. and let me tell you, its a joke of major proportions, you have no way of contacting them except to give them your name and email and phone number, and they will call you back, their other option if you are in a critical mode, is to go through the second party service provider, for 40 plus dollars to solve your issue.

So, today, I gathered up the disc, packaging and rcpt and returned it to Staples and told them it was defective and it sucked. I got my money back.

Meanwhile, I went to Oregon dot gov and did my taxes on their proforma, and just now printed it off, yeah, I had to whip out the old calculator and do the math, but, its done.

I will mail things off in the morning (or just take my fed return to the IRS office in PDX) and call it good.

when I get my refunds, I will then inform the IRS and Oregon Revenuers of the ID breach and see what they recommend about it.
