Apr. 7th, 2021 11:45 amI have been feeling disconnected in some ways but more functional in others, its an interesting process right now.
I got my second covid shot on time, and my Wicked Evil Stepmom got hers, so I am going up to Longview tomorrow to visit with her, its been 6 months now. I hope to take up her xmas presents and some of sisters stuff for dispersal, like her Laurel Burch horsie carry bags, unopened puzzles, and horse books. Just some off the surface as it were, but, its a start to move more things out. Its been about a month since I made serious effort on whats left of her stuff that I have, the final book sort, and the odds and ends I snaffled out of the chaos of clearing her apartment and her storage. I think if we had to actually think about what we were doing we would have been overwhelmed to the point of doing nothing but walking away from it all.
Lots of lessons learned over this, thats for sure.
I have been working hard in my yard on the good weather days, and doing other things when it was raining. Spring has come, and I had to hook up the hoses in the yard to keep things from drying out. I have part of the garden cleaned up and some veggies planted, and clearing the pots, and and and... gardening and yard work is never done, its a constant cycle, which at this point, is something I need. We have our personal rituals of life, and I can sit outside and watch the birds and the critters... I keep seeing a chipmunk but it doesnt have the traditonal colors we expect, its so dark its almost solid black. And the ducks are back, they like to land on the roof and survery the world. There has been a rabbit sighting, so they are still here too.
Today, clean out the van and get it loaded for the trip tomorrow...
The chiropractor has been helping a lot with my walk and gait, I still shuffle a bit, but, I am not limping like Quasimodo on a bad day. The pain levels are down too, because I am not so stove up. Its nice to be able to move without preplanning as it were.
